Beta terms
These are the terms for using the Still Fluent beta, made by Just A Guy Software LLC ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. They're short on purpose. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data and is part of these terms.
It's a beta
- The app is unfinished. Features may change, break or disappear, and we may reset or lose data while we fix things. Don't rely on it as the only record of anything you care about.
- The beta is free and invite-only. We can end the beta, or your access to it, at any time. If we do, you can still ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it.
- We may set limits, such as monthly minutes for cloud voice conversations, and change them.
- Apple's TestFlight terms also apply to how you install and run the app.
The AI partner can be wrong
Conversations, corrections, definitions and readings are generated by AI models from other companies. They're usually helpful and sometimes wrong, including about grammar, tones, pitch accent, readings and facts in the news pieces. Use your own judgment, and don't rely on the app for anything important, like medical, legal, financial or safety decisions, or for professional translation.
Your account
- You need to be an adult (or old enough to agree to these terms where you live) to use the app.
- Keep your sign-in email secure; anyone who can open sign-in links sent to it can get into your account.
- Pick a username that isn't offensive or pretending to be someone else. We may change or remove one that is.
- You can delete your account any time in Settings → Delete account.
Be decent
Don't use the app to harass anyone, to try to break or overload it, to get at other people's data, or to generate content that's illegal or abusive. Don't share invite links publicly to bring in people we haven't invited. We may suspend accounts that do these things.
What's yours and what's ours
What you say and save in the app is yours. You give us permission to store and process it, and to send it to the providers named in the privacy policy, only to run the app for you. The app itself, the practice pieces, and the Still Fluent name belong to us. Please don't copy or redistribute them.
Feedback
We'd love your feedback. If you send ideas or suggestions, we can use them to improve the app without owing you anything for them.
No warranty
The beta is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don't promise it will be error-free, always available, or that it will keep your language skills from slipping.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Just A Guy Software LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from the beta. Because the beta is free, our total liability to you for anything related to it is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account and the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Just A Guy Software LLC is organized, in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
